Family Resource Library
Helping The Community
Developed by the Sandhills Family Support and Community Collaboration Program
The Family Resource Library was developed by the Family Support and Community Collaboration Program (sponsored by Sandhills Center LME/MCO and NC Families United) to aid families who are seeking information on topics such as parenting/child development, trauma/grief, suicide signs/prevention, substance misuse, service organizations, education, and many other subject areas. This is not an exhaustive list of resources but we hope this information will answer some of your questions.
Persons living within the Sandhills Center LME/MCO catchment area (Anson, Guilford, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Randolph, and Richmond counties) can contact the Family Support Advocate for their county to learn more about local resources. Click here to get to the website. The advocates per county are also listed on our meet the team section of our website.

History
Sandhills Center’s Family Support and Community Collaboration Program
Sandhills Center LME/MCO created the Family Support and Community Collaboration Program in 1995 using one of the first System of Care grants awarded in North Carolina. Since that time Sandhills Center has merged with other area mental health programs including Randolph County Mental Health Center, Lee Harnett Mental Health, and Guilford Center. With each merger Sandhills Center demonstrated its support for family advocacy and community collaboration by expanding the Family Support program to cover the merged counties. Today five Family Support Advocates cover all nine counties which make up the Sandhills Center LME/MCO catchment area. Since its inception, the Family Support and Community Collaboration Program has partnered with agencies that advocate for the mental health needs of children and families. In 2017 Sandhills Center found an enduring partner in NC Families United whose mission made the Family Support and Community Collaboration Program a natural fit. Now Sandhills Center’s Family Support and Community Collaboration program is proud to be one of initiatives dedicated to serving children, youth, and families under the umbrella of NC Families United.
