About the event
Step into the shoes of someone returning home after incarceration in a rural community. The North Carolina Families United Rural Reentry Simulation is an interactive, experiential event designed to help participants better understand the barriers individuals may face when returning home after incarceration. During the simulation, participants will receive an assigned scenario and move through community-based stations while navigating realistic challenges related to housing, employment, transportation, identification, supervision requirements, family responsibilities, health care and basic needs. The experience will conclude with a facilitated community discussion focused on rural barriers and practical solutions for strengthening reentry support in Caldwell County.
Participation is free, but registration is required. Space is limited, and registration will remain open until capacity is reached.
Check-in is from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. The program begins promptly at 9:45 AM
